I’m using this Victorian era saying (typically said to brides - further research can be found here) because I want to cover multiple topics which can be described by those 4 categories (new, old, borrowed, blue) and I prefer not to use the word “scattershot” to describe the random amalgamation (booyah!) of thoughts that will be included in this post. More unnecessarily big words to follow if you decide to click through…
Something Old
I don’t think I’ve posted anything substantial (more than a couple sentences) in about 3 weeks so I’m going to tackle some old news. Since my last “real” post, I’ve moved into a new place. A house with Jimbo, Tett & Turk. So far, it’s been pretty awesome and I only expect it to get better as we get more settled in and get everything looking closer to how we want it to look. If you haven’t seen it, you should probably stop by soon.
Something New
It is happening. I am finally getting out to start golfing again. This Thursday I’ll be heading over to this driving range off of 75 in Dallas to hit some balls with a friend of mine from work. He is brand new to golf and I haven’t played in over 2 years so it should be a good way to get back into the flow a little bit and neither of us have to worry about the other one showing us up. I went to a wine tasting last Thursday at Wine Styles which was pretty delicious so I’m slowly getting both of those new hobbies moving. Hopefully once I get back from vacation and mission trip I can get started on joining another organization/group.
Something Borrowed
I’m borrowing Peter King’s Ten Things I Think I Think to consolidate my thoughts on recent happenings with my favorite sports teams and probably some other topics.
1. I think the Rangers are just messing with our heads and will quickly fall completely out of contention. In one month I predict the team will start in-fighting and complaining to the media. Nolan Ryan & Jon Daniels will talk about the bright future of our young stars. They will then immediately trade Josh Hamilton & Salty for a 14 year old pitching prospect who blows his arm out at Winter League Ball in Venezuela. And Ronny Wash will be fired the day after the All-Star Game.
2. I think the least feasible thing on that list is Ronny Wash getting fired. Ahh, the sad life of a Ranger fan.
3. I think the Cowboys needed a player with talent like Pacman Jones but I wish they could have found someone with perhaps a shred of human decency.
4. I also think the Cowboys would be smart to find a #2 receiver for T.O. but hopefully one with a better track record than Chris Henry.
5. I think the Stars have found out what it’s like to play a real hockey team the past 3 games after coasting through a couple rounds against teams from California.
6. I think my hockey fandom may extend to next season….. assuming the Stars put a decent team on the ice.
7. I think Rick Carlisle is a terrible choice for the Mavs’ coaching position but he’ll be fine to play the patsy when we fire him in 3 years once we’ve wasted Dirk’s prime and traded Josh Howard after his inevitable confession to being “one of a ton of guys in the league to enjoy a good dog fight during the offseason”.
8. I think I need to go back to Vegas for many reasons but especially to put a bet on when J. Howard’s confession will occur. Regardless of the line, I’m taking the under.
9. I think I’m finally done with my exhaustion from the move and I’m ready to get back to the gym…. maybe.
10. I know I’m ready to be on vacation in Rome.
Something Blue
A continuation of my Arrested Development love. This time with Tobias painted blue while he waits on a call from The Blue Man group.
Arrested Development -Travel Buddies to Mexico
I’m heading to Austin this weekend and I may have a post related to that next week. At the very least, I expect to post something for my birthday on Monday. Until next time…. Stay classy, world.

OK if you’re playing golf, then you MUST listen to the great trash-talking golf rap song, “On the Green” by The Bigfellas.
