Where have all the bloggers gone?

Recently, I have noticed a drastic decline in posting from some of the folks (like myself) that were blogging so consistently earlier this year. I am probably guiltier than the rest considering that I committed to daily blogging during lent and have since dropped off the edge of the blogging world. If you click through, I’ll be dispensing my fun theories on why everyone has stopped blogging and follow that with a personal commitment to my blogging future.

Let’s start with the easy ones and move through the list:

TETT got a girlfriend and will blog when he becomes single again or gets married. Only then will his life be monotonous enough that he will feel like spouting theories on baseball, restaurants and scattershoots.

TURK is too sunburned to type but will be back because as he has said for weeks now – “It’ll be a tan by tomorrow.”

JIMBO will blog once he stops working 90 hour weeks and retires with a gazillion dollars. I expect to see a new post in less than 5 years.

MEL has decided to let the mini-mantourage (J-bag, Chuy and Jonesy-bear) take over her blogging duties while she is out of town all summer. Only J-bag has jumped on the bandwagon but like any good mantourage – when one starts the rest will soon follow.

THE JUDGE is afraid that by blogging he will somehow screw up his knee. He’ll finally get the courage to start again and when the inevitable injury occurs he will put up a final one-word post that will read “Classic!”

Kudos to those of you on the blogroll who managed to keep up your posting. I’ll let everyone in the comments take their shot at why my posting slowed so much over the past couple months.

As hopefully everyone knows, this was all just in good fun but the reality of the situation for myself and everyone on the above list is that life gets in the way of trivial things like blogging. We all would like it if we had more time to spend with our hobbies or with our friends or, hell, even with ourselves but we don’t. Jobs, school, errands, travel and a million other little things get in the way all the time. So, I can’t make a promise that I’ll blog once a week or a month or even a year but I would like to commit to blogging when I have something worth saying and some spare time to throw it out there for all the “internets” to see. I hope to keep tackling posts on songwriting, any trips I take and occasionally some thoughts on my faith and personal growth. I hope that by doing this, everyone can gain a little further insight into who I was, who I am and who I will be. So thanks for reading and check back in from time to time. I’ll be around.
